Co-founder Martin Wegener, professor at the Institute of Applied Physics and director of the Institute for Nanotechnology at KIT, says, “We took the unknown technology of two-photon-polymerization out of a research niche. They started with four persons. Today, Nanoscribe GmbH, with a revenue in the double-digit millions, has around 60 employees and intends to employ even more. “Licensing of several patents by KIT’s Innovation Management Service Unit and the partnership with ZEISS contributed decisively to this success,” Martin Wegener … We realize (in cooperation with the group of Prof. Dr. Martin Wegener, subproject A1.4) 3D microstructure scaffolds by means of Direct Laser Writing (DWL) into biocompatible photoresists (Nanoscribe system). 2020-4-14 · group: Prof.

Nanoscribe Webinar with Prof. Dr. Martin Wegener.
Dr. Martin Wegener at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the company ZEISS have successfully printed fluorescent 3D structures by means of Nanoscribe’s Photonic Professional GT.
In this informal session, Professor Martin Wegener will share aspects of the Nanoscribe GmbH commercialisation journey; from early stage, blue-sky research in 2000 through to legal founding of Nanoscribe in December 2007 and, in 2018, employing 70 people and reaching 11M Euro in sales. The start-up company Nanoscribe GmbH has been founded in 2007 out of Martin Wegener’s group. Nanoscribe GmbH, located in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen near Karlsruhe, offers 3D printers for the micro- and nanometer scale as well as photoresists and process solutions tailored to specific application areas. This collaboration emerged from the Carl Zeiss Research Award 2006, jointly for Kurt Busch and Martin Wegener, the two senior principal investigators of CFN project A1. As a result, the spin-off company Nanoscribe GmbH has officially been founded in December 2007.
