Although it does not provide a comprehensive overview of every aspect of Habermas’s critical theory, it does situate the idea of the public sphere, which occupied him early on in his career, in Habermas constructs this book as a series of chapters each dealing with a major figure (the figures dealt with are: Hegel, Marx, Comte, Mach, Peirce, Dewey, Kant, Fichte, Freud, and Nietzsche).
